Las Vegas has created a destination that encourages
people to live out their fantasies, without judgment
or many restrictions. A fantasy, conjured up by our
imaginations, is a whim, daydream, desire, fancy, make-
Who wouldn’t want to play out their fantasies? I do. I
do! For the most part, we live in an orderly, ordinary way.
We go to school, build a career, and have a family. We try
to avoid whatever might get in the way of attaining these
goals. To relieve stress of everyday life, we watch TV,
surf the Internet, or create hobbies. Well, I’m here to say
that once in a while we need a break—a real break. I don’t

We need to do something extraordinary and outrageous.
Whether our fantasies are a 1.0 or a 9.9 on the Take a
Break scale doesn’t matter. The place to play them out is

I’m up. Playing out fantasies comes with a downside, and
This article does not provide a guarantee to save
you from yourself or prevent you from doing really stupid
things. But it will educate you about yourself, to raise
your awareness of what you are doing and the risks
involved—at least until you are no longer conscious—in this
amazing, one-of-a-kind environment. Remember, you have
choices. Consider this a survival course, like CPR, for
those who, in the end, will only have themselves to blame
About the Author
What qualifies me to write about having few regrets
when visiting Las Vegas? How do I know this information?
Have I ever written a book before?
I lived in Las Vegas for more than eleven years. I
worked in housing, hosted a television show, and was a
doorman at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. I’ve written and
published a book about my experiences working in the middle
of the night at the MGM, and it is a must read.
As a doorman at a major resort, I answered hundreds of
visitors’ questions every day, ranging from where are the….
